Overview
Charles joined Maitland as a tenant in September 2020, following the successful completion of his pupillage. Charles is building a broad commercial chancery practice, and accepts instructions in a range of chambers’ practice areas.
Charles’ experience encompasses commercial disputes, civil fraud, insolvency, company law, landlord and tenant, professional negligence, offshore disputes, charities law, and intellectual property law. He has appeared in both the High Court and County Court, and has been instructed both as sole counsel and as part of a team.
Charles obtained a first-class degree in History and Spanish from Oxford University in 2013, and later completed the GDL and BPTC at City, University of London. Between 2014 and 2017, he qualified as a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, before leaving the profession to come to the Bar. He has also worked in industry, having spent a year with Samsung Electronics after completing his undergraduate degree.
